I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
